Thank you to all who came out to the OCPCA Annual Family Fun Day. While the day was cut short somewhat by a thunder storm, some brave souls stayed till the end. All and all it was a great day and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
A special thank you to Ashcroft Homes, the City of Ottawa and Councillor Maria McRae whose generous contributions made it possible to offer many of the day’s entertainment free of charge to all. This event also marked the initial outing of Second Cup as a sponsor of community events and we look forward to having them at other community events.
This year’s raffle prizes generated a lot of interest and a big thank you to Christos Sarakinos who canvassed the local businesses to bring us this great range of prizes. Thank you also to those local businesses that graciously donated items to the event’s raffle (see below). We look forward to working with these and other local businesses as the Central Park community continues to grow.
The list of raffle winners for the second round draw are listed below. You can claim your prize at 30 Whitestone Drive anytime during the day before end of day Wednesday, July 4th. Alternatively you can send an email to secretary@central-park.ottawa.on.ca to arrange alternative pick-up. All those prizes that have not been claimed by this date will be used for future community events.
The OCPCA depends on the Family Fun Day to generate donations to support community activities like the Family Fun Day, Mini-Winterlude, the annual Garage Sale and the Gardening Club activities. We thank all those who donated. While we received many donations this year, we are just shy of meeting our budgetary goals. If you didn’t have an opportunity to donate and would like to do so, it is easy and can be done through our PAYPAL account.
The OCPCA Board is always interested in your feedback on events or ideas for other community activities. Feel free to contact any of the Board members or attend one of the board meetings.
